Prime Minister Internship Scheme (PMIS)
By Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Government of India
About this internship
From the PMIS portal and its candidate FAQ: companies post internships on the portal all year (the portal's home page showed more than 3 lakh openings when this was written). You search by sector, state and district, choose the ones you want and apply. Each internship has its own application dates, so check them on the portal.
The scheme pays ₹9,000 a month for the whole internship and a one-time ₹6,000 incidental grant in two parts (after joining and after 3 months). The Ministry also arranges life and accident insurance. Some companies add benefits, which the portal shows on the internship. You need an Aadhaar-seeded bank account to receive the money. There is no registration or application fee.
Internships last 6 or 9 months, and at least half of the time must be real work, not classroom training. Read the full list of conditions in the FAQ on the portal before you apply.
