Frequently asked questions
How do I get a clean scan from a phone photo?
Lay the page flat, use daylight or a bright lamp, keep the phone straight above the page and fill the frame with the paper. The tool then whitens the paper and evens out shadows.
Does it straighten a tilted or curved page?
No. It cleans up the colours and shadows, trims the edges and turns pages, but it does not correct perspective. Take the photo straight on for the best result.
Why is black and white best for notes?
It gives crisp text and a much smaller file, which is easier to share and upload. Use colour or grey for diagrams, highlighted text or photos.
Are my pages uploaded?
No. The photos are cleaned and put into the PDF in your browser, and they never leave your device.
