Frequently asked questions

Can I send these letters as they are?

Read the letter once and change anything that is not true for you. Colleges notice copied letters, so a short, honest reason in your own words works best.

Who should I address the letter to?

Leave the box empty to address it to the Principal. For a leave of a few days, many colleges prefer the Head of the Department or your class teacher, so type that instead.

Which letters are included?

Leave for illness and for family or personal work, a bonafide certificate, a fee concession, an NOC for an internship, condoning an attendance shortage, a transfer certificate, a duplicate ID card or marksheet, and a request to a professor for a recommendation letter.

Do I need to attach anything?

Often yes: a medical certificate for illness, an income certificate for a fee concession, the company's offer for an NOC. The letter mentions the document, and your college's rules say exactly what it needs.
