Frequently asked questions
What does it mean when the paper is scaled?
Some universities mark the final paper out of 100 but count it for only 50 in the total. Put 100 in 'marked out of' and 50 in 'counts for', and the tool does the conversion for you.
Is a minimum in the final paper separate from the total pass mark?
Often yes. Many universities want both a total percentage and a smaller minimum in the final paper alone. The tool works out both and shows the one that asks for more.
What if the tool says the target is out of reach?
It means even full marks in the final exam would not reach that total. The tool shows the best total you can still get, so you can pick a target that is possible.
Will my university round or add grace marks?
Possibly. The tool rounds the paper marks up to a whole mark and adds nothing else. Grace marks and rounding rules differ, so check your university's rulebook for the final word.
