Frequently asked questions
Which PDFs can it make smaller?
PDFs that hold photos, such as scans from a phone scanner app or pages made with Images to PDF. It makes those photos lighter. A PDF saved from Word with just text is usually small already, and the tool tells you when there is nothing to shrink.
Will the text stay sharp?
Yes. Text, lines and links are not touched. Only the photos inside are re-saved at a lower quality, so a scan can look a little softer at the strongest setting.
What if it cannot reach my size?
It tries stronger and stronger settings and then gives you the smallest file it could make, saying clearly that the limit was missed. You can then split the PDF or remove pages you do not need with the PDF tools.
Is my PDF uploaded?
No. The work happens in your browser, so the file stays on your phone or computer.
