Privacy Policy

Dostkit is a free website for students in India. We decide how the information described here is used. You can reach us at syedumair911071@gmail.com.

• Files and text in the free tools. Photos, PDFs and what you type are handled inside your own browser. They are not uploaded, so we cannot see them or keep them.
• Your resume draft. It is saved in your browser only. It stays on your device unless you choose to publish a portfolio.
• Your account. If you create one, we keep your email address and a password. Passwords are stored in a scrambled form by our login provider, so even we cannot read them. Your sign-in is kept in your browser so you stay signed in.
• A published portfolio. If you publish, the resume details you chose become a public web page at /p/your-username, and anyone with the link can see them. Your email and phone number are hidden unless you tick the boxes to show them. You can make the page private or delete it at any time.
• Your saved list and alert settings. The listings you save, which emails you want, and a secret code that makes the unsubscribe link in your emails work. We also note which reminders were sent, so you never get the same one twice.
• Reports. If you use “Report wrong info”, we keep your message and the email or phone number you chose to add, so we can check and reply.
• Suggestions. If you use “Suggest a listing”, we keep the link, the note and the email or phone number you chose to add, so we can check the page and tell you when it is added.
• Technical records. Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs (such as your IP address and the pages requested) for security and to keep the site running.

We do not use analytics or advertising cookies at the moment.

We use a few trusted services to run the site. They handle information only to do their job for us:

• Supabase, for the database and sign-in.
• Resend, to send the emails you ask for (reminders and the weekly email).
• Our hosting provider, which serves the website.
• jsDelivr, a public delivery network. When you use Image to Text, it sends the text-reading program and language files to your browser, and so it sees your internet address, as any website would. Your picture is never sent to it.

We do not sell your information.

• Account, saved list and alert settings: until you ask us to delete them.
• A record of which emails were sent: while your account exists.
• Reports and suggestions: until we have dealt with them.
• Server logs: for a short time, as set by our hosting provider.

• Stop all alert emails with the unsubscribe link in any email, or change them on your Saved page.
• Publish, hide or delete your portfolio from your Portfolio page.
• Change your answer on cookies any time with “Cookie settings” in the footer.
• Ask to see, correct or delete the information we hold about you by writing to syedumair911071@gmail.com. These are rights you have under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, and so is the right to complain to us first and to the Data Protection Board of India if we do not help.

The free tools and the resume builder work without an account. If you are under 18, please ask a parent or guardian before you create an account, publish a portfolio or turn on email alerts. Indian law may require a parent’s consent for that, and we may ask for it.

We use well-known providers and secure connections, and we only keep what we need. No website can promise perfect security, so please use a strong password that you do not use anywhere else.

If we change how we use your information, we will update this page and the date at the top. If the change matters to your account, we will tell you by email.
