How to use Compare Two Job Offers
- 1Choose lakhs a year (LPA) or rupees, then enter the CTC of both offers.
- 2Add the variable pay inside each CTC, and the rent and costs in each city if you want them counted.
- 3Open the settings if your offer letter differs, such as PF on the full basic pay.
- 4Read which offer leaves you more each month, with and without the variable pay.
Frequently asked questions
Why can a higher CTC leave me with less money?
CTC includes things you never receive in your bank account, such as the company's PF and gratuity, and variable pay that is only paid if targets are met. An offer with a lower CTC but more fixed pay can leave you with more each month.
What does 'fixed pay only' show?
It removes the variable pay completely, so you see the in-hand salary you can count on. Variable pay is often paid at less than 100 percent, so this is the safe figure.
Does the comparison include income tax?
Yes, under the new tax regime, along with PF and professional tax. It is an estimate: your offer letter and salary slips have the real figures.
Can I include the cost of living in each city?
Yes. Enter the rent, food and travel you expect each month for each offer. The tool then also shows what is left after those costs.
