What this uses, and what it leaves out
- Income tax on the new tax regime, AY 2026-27, as published by the Income Tax Department: slabs from nil up to ₹4 lakh to 30% above ₹24 lakh, a ₹75,000 standard deduction, and no tax up to ₹12 lakh of taxable income (with relief just above it). The 2026 Budget kept these slabs. The old regime and savings deductions are not covered.
- Provident fund: 12% of basic, from you and from the company. The compulsory limit was raised to ₹25,000 a month in September 2026.
- Your payslip can differ: companies split pay in their own way (HRA, allowances, reimbursements) and tax is deducted in monthly parts. Treat this as a good estimate, not tax advice.

Frequently asked questions
Will this match my first salary slip exactly?
No, it is an estimate. Companies split the CTC in their own way, and insurance, bonuses and joining dates change the numbers. Use it to compare offers, and trust your offer letter and salary slip for the real figures.
Which tax rules does it use?
The new tax regime for the 2026-27 assessment year, with the standard deduction and the rebate, plus 4% cess. The rules are shown on the tool. Surcharge for very high incomes is not included, and the old regime is not covered.
Why is my in-hand salary so much lower than CTC divided by 12?
CTC counts what the company spends on you: the company's PF, gratuity and other items you never receive in your bank account. Then your own PF, professional tax and income tax are cut from the rest.
Is my salary saved or sent anywhere?
No. The numbers are used only to do the sum on your screen.
