SEBI Legal Department Internship

By Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI)

About this internship

From SEBI's guidelines for internship in its Legal Department: up to 4 students a month are taken, for at least four weeks starting on the first working day of the month. The internship is full time and in person at SEBI's office in Mumbai, and interns work from 9:30 am to 6:00 pm on working days.

Applications are made only on SEBI's online portal, from the 1st to the 7th of every month, for an internship in the following month (apply in July for August). You also upload a cover letter on your law school's letterhead, in SEBI's format, stating your aggregate percentage. Selection is on merit, using your aggregate percentage, and SEBI may prefer applicants with exposure to corporate and securities law, earlier internships, publications or moot courts. Shortlisted applicants are told by email and must reply within two days.

Interns receive a certificate. A stipend of ₹10,000 may also be given if a senior officer of the department recommends it. Interns arrange their own accommodation, transport and medical insurance.
