URL Encode and Decode Online
The short answer
Paste a link or text to encode characters such as spaces and ampersands as percent codes, or paste an encoded link to read it again. Use it when a query value has special characters, or when a link is full of %20 and %3D and hard to read.
“A part” (for example a search word) also encodes / ? & and =. “A whole address” leaves those alone so the link keeps working.
Everything runs in your browser. What you type is not sent anywhere.

Frequently asked questions
Should I encode the whole link or only the value?
Only the values in the query part. Encoding the whole link would also change the slashes and the colon and break it.
Why does a space become %20 or a plus?
Both mean a space in different places: %20 is general, and a plus is used in form data. The tool uses the percent code, which works everywhere.
