Email for Applying to a Job
The short answer
When you apply by email, the message itself is the cover letter, so keep it short: the role in the subject line, two or three lines on why you fit, and your resume attached as a PDF. Name the file clearly. The template gives the subject and the body.
A short email to send with your resume attached.
Leave empty for “Dear Hiring Manager”.
Separate with commas.
Your email
Fill in the parts in [square brackets], copy it, and make it sound like you. A letter in your own words always beats a template, so change anything that does not fit. Your details stay in your browser.
Everything runs in your browser. What you type is not sent anywhere.

Frequently asked questions
Should I also write a separate cover letter?
Not if the email says what a cover letter would. If the job post asks for one, attach it as a second PDF.
What should I name the resume file?
Use your name and the role, for example Asha-Verma-Data-Analyst.pdf. A file called 'resume final 2' looks careless.
