Compress Image to 200 KB

Images & QR100% freeFiles never leave your device

The short answer

Several national exam forms accept a photo up to 200 KB, for example NEET and JEE Main in 2026. Add your photo below with the 200 KB target set and the tool shrinks it until it fits. If the form also sets a smallest size, use the exam photo tool instead.

How to shrink

PNG photos are saved as JPG or WebP so they get smaller.

We lower the quality, and the picture size if needed, until it fits. 1 KB is counted as 1,000 bytes, which is safe whichever way a website counts.

Your files stay on your device. This tool runs entirely in your browser and nothing is uploaded to a server.

How to: Compress Image to 200 KB

  1. 1Choose your photo, or drag it onto the box.
  2. 2Keep the target at 200, or change it to the number on your form.
  3. 3Press Compress image and read the new size.
  4. 4Save the file and upload it. Check the preview the website shows.

Frequently asked questions

My form says 10 KB to 200 KB. Is this tool enough?

It keeps the photo under 200 KB, but a very small photo could fall under 10 KB. The Exam Photo & Signature Maker accepts both numbers and keeps the file inside the range.

Will 200 KB be sharp enough for my face?

Yes, for a passport-size photo. A phone photo is usually several MB, so compressing it to 200 KB removes detail you cannot see on a small picture.
