Compress Image to 20 KB
The short answer
Add the image below. The target is already set to 20 KB, so the tool lowers the quality, and the picture size only if needed, until the file fits. Signatures and small photos usually fit easily; large photos lose more detail.
PNG photos are saved as JPG or WebP so they get smaller.
We lower the quality, and the picture size if needed, until it fits. 1 KB is counted as 1,000 bytes, which is safe whichever way a website counts.
Your files stay on your device. This tool runs entirely in your browser and nothing is uploaded to a server.

Frequently asked questions
Why can a large photo not reach 20 KB?
A 20 KB file only holds a small picture. If the photo has many pixels, reducing quality alone is not enough. The tool then makes the picture smaller too, and tells you if even that is not enough.
Is this the right tool for a signature?
It works, but the Exam Photo & Signature Maker is better for signatures: it cleans the paper, trims the empty space and fits the exact pixel size and KB your form asks for.
Can I compress several images together?
Yes. Add all of them and press Compress. Each one is shrunk to the target on its own.
