Frequently asked questions

Is the XAT photo limit 1 MB or 50 KB?

The bulletin says the file should be within 1 MB, and separately suggests a JPEG below 50 KB for the photo when you use MS Paint. The tool keeps yours under 50 KB, which satisfies both.

Can I wear glasses in my XAT photo?

Yes, if there are no reflections and your eyes are clearly visible. Caps, hats and dark glasses are not allowed. Religious headwear is allowed as long as it does not cover your face.

What happens if my XAT photo is unclear?

The bulletin says the application may be rejected, but that you can edit it and upload a clearer photograph or signature before you submit it.
