JEE Main Photo Size: 10 to 200 KB JPG
The short answer
JEE (Main) 2026 is stricter than NEET on one point: the passport-size photo must be in colour. It is a JPG or JPEG of 10 to 200 KB on a white background, and you also capture a live photograph while filling the form. No pixel size is given, so the tool below uses 413 × 531.
Copy the numbers from your own exam notice: sizes change from year to year and between exams.
The file is made exactly 413 × 531 pixels and under 200 KB (you are told if it ends up below 10 KB). It is counted as 1 KB = 1,000 bytes, so it fits whether the website counts 1,000 or 1,024.
Your files stay on your device. This tool runs entirely in your browser and nothing is uploaded to a server.

Frequently asked questions
Is a black and white photo allowed for JEE Main?
The 2026 bulletin says the passport-size photograph should be in colour. Some other NTA exams allow black and white, so follow the JEE Main wording.
What is the live photo?
While filling the application you also capture a live photograph with your camera. Do it in good light, looking straight ahead, so that it matches your uploaded photo and your face on exam day.
Is there a pixel size for the JEE Main photo?
The bulletin names only the file type and the size in KB. The tool uses a standard passport-photo size of 413 × 531 pixels, which fits the rule.
